Fearing an outbreak of religious violence, Rajasthan police in India today (Wednesday) banned public gatherings and stopped internet services, a day after two Muslims uploaded a video in which they claimed responsibility for the murder of a tailor in the city of Udaipur.
Two suspects were questioned by federal investigators today, and police are preparing for any unrest in the northwestern state.
"We are under strict instructions to prevent any kind of protest or demonstration that is supposed to condemn the murder," police officer Hava Singh Gomaria told Reuters, adding that the murder shocked the nation.

The video shows two bearded men sharpening a butcher knife and saying they are avenging the insult to the Prophet Muhammad caused by the sacrifice.
They also referred to Nofur
Sharma, the former spokeswoman for the Hindu ruling party (BJP), whose remarks about the prophet earlier this month ignited outrage in India and abroad. Al

"Terrorists have executed my father in the most shocking way, the state must stand by the family and demand justice," the victim's son, Yash, told Reuters.
The father's body was cremated today.
According to the son, the killers should be sentenced to death.
Politicians and preachers condemned the murder.
"The incident shocked the believers of Islam, the heinous crime committed by the two men is against Islam," said Maulana Ahmad Siddiki, a Muslim cleric in Udaipur.
In another video uploaded to the net, one of the attackers also threatened Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that their knives would find him as well.
Modi's conservative nationalist policy "First Hindus" has provoked tensions in a country where Muslims make up 13% of the 1.4 billion citizens.
