NIS 22 million for recruitment: The plan that will solve the congestion at Ben Gurion Airport | Israel Today

Against the background of disruptive flights and exhausting queues, the Airports Authority has released a solution to the issue • Among other things, employees will benefit from signing and perseverance grants and grants to security guards and inspectors • However, the workers' distress will be resolved only towards Passover next year


The congestion at Ben Gurion Airport and at many airports around the world has become part of the travel landscape, due to the situation at the Airports Authority this morning (Wednesday) released a plan to solve the problem. 

According to the plan, the Airports Authority will encourage the recruitment of workers to Ben Gurion Airport and the border crossings for about NIS 30 million.

The amount of recruitment incentives for the workers will be NIS 22 million, and eight million of them will be allocated for the recruitment and reinforcement of security workers at the border crossings.

Employees will also benefit from signature and perseverance grants approved by the Ministry of Finance.

The grant for joining a uniformed security guard / protective unit is NIS 5,000, a security guard who graduates from a course that will work at Ben Gurion Airport will enjoy a grant of NIS 9,500 and examiners will receive a grant of NIS 2,500 at the end of the course.

The current airport manager, Shmuel Zakai, who is expected to leave at the end of the year, announced that he estimates that the shortage of workers at Ben Gurion Airport will be resolved only in preparation for Passover next year.
