FC Deisenhofen's new artificial turf will be more expensive than expected.

The association has now asked the municipality to bear part of the additional costs.

The council agreed on a share.

Oberhaching

– The construction of the second artificial turf pitch for FC Deisenhofen is underway.

The association actually wanted to start two years ago, but due to the corona crisis and the unclear financial effects for the community, the construction was initially abandoned.

Two years ago, the municipal council agreed to subsidize the artificial turf field with up to 820,000 euros or 73 percent of the total costs, 18 percent is covered by the BLSV and nine percent by the club.

Now it turned out that the costs will increase by around 53,000 euros.

The FCD therefore applied for the municipality to bear the additional costs.

In the finance committee, Claudia Schmidt-Utzmann (FDP) now pointed out that the community's funds were scarce and that the association should take action itself.

Sabine Hillbrand (Greens) agreed, after all, sponsors could also be used.

Anja Wille (CSU), on the other hand, emphasized that it is “not about additional requests from the club, but almost force majeure”.

She proposed the compromise that the municipality would also take on 73 percent of the 53,000 euros, as was agreed in 2020 when supporting the entire project.

Erwin Knapek (SPD) was able to make friends with this proposal.

"As a municipality, we have to be a reliable partner for clubs, but we also have to make it clear that we have to take the initiative." The compromise was approved with six to three dissenting votes.
