The traditional artistic evening, which was revived by the Dar Al Funun Club band in Homs in the House of Arts in the Hamidiya neighborhood, added a charming atmosphere that brought the audience back to the days of the beautiful time in a place whose walls are adorned with pictures of legends of Arab singing, in addition to some heritage pieces and paintings of plastic art in all its schools.
The evening was held at the invitation of the branch of the Historical Scientific Society in Homs, in the presence of an audience of intellectuals and those interested. In addition to Qadoud and traditional Syrian muwashshahat, Muhammad Khair Al-Kilani, one of the band members, presented some traditional songs.
Dr. Fayrouz Youssef, Head of the Branch of the Historical Scientific Society in Homs, pointed out that the musical heritage is part of the country’s heritage, and music always constitutes the identity of any nation, as our artistic heritage has been targeted during the crisis, indicating that we have a rich stock in Syria and to preserve it and introduce generations to it. For generations, they are noted for the rich and rich musical history of Homs with different types of music and singing.
For his part, head of Dar al-Funun Club, Ayman al-Saqqa, pointed out the continuity of the band in presenting original art since its founding in 1968 in Homs, and its participation in reviving musical and artistic evenings on various occasions and in partnership with cultural associations and institutions.
