A week has passed since the statement of the former deputy director of Moshe Saada, that Roni Elshich wanted to disband Moshe. Now, in an exclusive interview with "Israel Hayom", the former police commissioner answers the claims. "I never spoke out about him, not even in the book I wrote, so that it wouldn't be implied that the Israel Police does not need a strong police force," clarifies Alsheich.
Why does Alsheich choose to speak now?
"Moshe Saada is going into politics - and this is the opportunity for the public to know who it is and not say 'we didn't know,'" says Alsheich, and adds: "It is important that the public deepen their acquaintance with him and his worldview, which in my view are a very distorted moral level."
Conflict over values
The interview takes place at Elsheich's house in Givat Shmuel, with his wife Shira's books and artwork in the background.
"The confrontation with the police was a confrontation about values, about a worldview," explains Elsheich. "When Saada says 'the police is a criminal organization' - that's not a conclusion, it's a worldview.
This is the work assumption he comes to work with every morning.
Take for example the Oren Sabag ruling from 2016, near the time I took office.
Judge Aden from the Be'er Sheva District Court ruled in an indictment filed by the police against four police officers, alleging that one of them poured boiling water on an interrogated person, when there was no evidence of this. The judge ruled that the person who led the police's investigation - his testimony is not reliable.
The judge asked who the police officer of the Police Department is and why there isn't one, and asked to transfer the Pesad to the Attorney General's review - in such a decision, steps are immediately taken against the police, but what happened at the Police Department? Nada, nothing.

"But it's not over, I happen to visit the BS station a few weeks after the incident and find out that the BS are engaged in a kind of campaign of investigations on the BS station, trying to produce testimony about the sexual harassment of female police officers by the station commanders.
Standing in front of me is an Israeli soldier crying, so much so that I can't understand what she's saying. Another female police officer, also upset, tells me how the police interrogated them, potential complainants, because they weren't ready to complain.
The police officers claimed that there had never been anything, and accused them in the investigation of covering up a criminal organization and its commanders, of which they are a part.
If a potential complainant was interrogated like this by the Israeli police, all the spin mothers in the country of Israel would tremble - and rightly so.
All the women's organizations stood up - and rightly so."
Alsheikh continues to tell: "A police officer who was loaned to the Police Department came to human resources and asked to leave as soon as possible because he is unable to bear what is happening there.

In my eyes, it's a moral failure that I made a great effort to change." According to him, "every large organization has failures because there are no righteous people, and now we need to help the police maintain the purity of morals."
"Who's the cop's cop?"
Elshich's efforts to change Saada and Carmel's ombudsmen exploded in a difficult conversation in the ombudsman's office, which according to Elshich he initiated himself.
"I filed a super legitimate lawsuit, to separate the investigations and the prosecution in the Public Prosecutor's Office and find out once and for all what the role of the Public Prosecutor's Office is. In the end, the Ombudsman accepted my position."
Carmel and Saada say you shouted.
"That morning, media reports come out with citations from the police regarding Umm Hiran.
The head of the police department tells me, 'It's not us.' I told him, 'Then deny it.' "Q to put all things on the table.

Carmel writes in an affidavit to the High Court that you tried to put fear into the High Court. They are the researchers and you are the researched.

Maybe you got lost in the heat of the conversation?
"There was no heat, it was a relaxed conversation, more of a courtesy meeting on the background that he was sick. A false meal, period. The only thing I said is that it cannot be that attorneys of the National Security Agency are walking around inside the interrogation room of the National Security Agency, it is not democratic."
Roni, you determined that Abu Al-Qiyaan is a terrorist and therefore you are an interested party, and after that you intervene in the investigation?
"I did not intervene, misleading the public in a scandalous way. I dealt with the matter only when it was a police investigation into the question of whether the driver was a terrorist, as soon as Shai Nitzan contacted me that a police investigation had been opened regarding the shooting of the police officers, from that moment I took a step back.
We are out of the picture.
What investigation did I disrupt?
Malicious leaks have come out from the Ministry of Defense to the media. Even the prosecutor's office knows that the Ministry of Defense has leaked.
The Ombudsman briefed former minister Gilad Erdan and then when the Ombudsman asked them about the leaks, they claimed that Erdan was the one who leaked.

When Alsheikh was asked if he received offers to join politics, he does not deny.
"There were many offers at the moment, I decided that I am not considering it, so it is not relevant," he says.

And then they appeared in Carmel's complaint against Elsheikh to the State Attorney Nitzan and in an exchange of messages between Alsheich to Carmel, in which Elsheich reiterated his recommendation to disband the Police - as I recall, an independent department whose job it is to investigate him and his subordinates.
