An Iranian delegation wants to go to Vienna to continue the nuclear negotiations.
Chief negotiator Ali Bagheri and his team will be on their way within the next few hours, the government announced on Wednesday.
EU coordinator Enrique Mora, who acts as a mediator in the talks, also announced a trip to Vienna on Twitter.
Efforts to revive the 2015 deal aim to curb Iran's nuclear program.
In return, sanctions should fall.
Former US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew from the agreement in 2018 and imposed new, severe sanctions.
After that, Tehran no longer felt bound by it.
Negotiations have been stalled for months.
The background is said to be differences between Tehran and the US government over the status of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
In the United States, the Revolutionary Guards are on a list of terrorist organizations.
At the end of June, the revival of the nuclear agreement failed in indirect talks between Iran and the USA.
The International Atomic Energy Agency recently warned that Iran only needs a few weeks to produce the starting material for a nuclear bomb.
Tehran has always emphasized that nuclear technology should only be used for peaceful purposes.
