The mighty artist Osama Al-Romani returns to the cinema in the short film (Amani)

Muhammad Samir Tahan, the author and director of the short feature film (Amani), finished filming his scenes in several places in Damascus, amid an atmosphere of suspense about the content of the work.

The film produced by the General Film Organization on the text that won the Children’s Cinema Award for the year 2021 witnessed the return of the great artist Osama Al-Romani to the cinema screen after dozens of years away from it.

In a press conference that included some of the work makers in the last days of filming through the artist Jamal Al-Ali, who plays in the film the role of the cruel and greedy stepfather, he expressed his happiness to participate in the film and described the work staff as the real family that adopted the idea of ​​the film with the aim of shedding light and trying to change the reality of children who work in the profession of waste collection from garbage containers.

In turn, the child Hammoud Abu Hassoun described his participation in the film as an important experience for him, as he enjoyed the performance of the character (Karim), the poor child who is forced by his stepfather to leave school and work with him in the profession of collecting waste, which is an inappropriate work in childhood, hoping that the film will succeed in conveying its message to the whole world.

As for the six-year-old girl, Russell Ibrahim, she explained that she played the role of the child Narges, a member of the abused family by the stepfather, indicating that her character required showing feelings of sadness and sympathy for her brother Karim, who suffers from injustice and violence.

For his part, the writer and director of the film said that the work presents the concept of safety and wishes for the segment of children who were forced by the war and its detachments to harsh life conditions and deprived them of education. At the same time, it addresses the issue of child labor in a profession that lacks the minimum human conditions through the story of the child Karim who is forced by his stepfather to work with him in collecting Waste from garbage containers.

The film stars Osama Al Romani, Najah Mokhtar, Sabah Al Salem, Madonna Hanna, Mudar Assaf and the child Al Yasar Nouman.

And in the film card came the general supervision of Murad Shaheen, director of lighting and photography Basil Sarawlji, director of production management Muhannad Ibrahim, director of outlet Rasha Hoballah, assistant director Samir Mustafa and Samir Ali, lighting supervisor Dureid Rahal, interior designer Mohamed Khattab, fashion designer Suha Al-Ali and sound engineer Hassan Kokash.
