The Al-Jazeera network reported that the ceasefire is being delayed due to Islamic Jihad's demands for Egyptian guarantees before it is announced.
It was also emphasized that the demands concern guarantees for the prisoners and the end of "Israeli escalation".
Earlier today, Prime Minister Yair Lapid visited the settlements in the south and surrounding Gaza.
First, Lapid toured the Southern Command, together with Defense Minister Benny Gantz.
There the two held a situation assessment, with the participation of Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi. Afterwards, Lapid met with the heads of the authorities. According to sources in the conversation, the prime minister did not talk about the operation and the security situation, but mainly about strengthening the authorities and the residents.
