In a statement to SANA, 15-year-old Sarah Zaidan said that her practice of karate is consistent and integrated with chess, a "game of smart people" that depends on focus, adding that she began practicing karate early in her life, specifically at the age of four, under the supervision of coach Nidal Zreika, and participated in kata championships and individual fighting at the level The province and the Republic and achieved advanced positions in all tournaments.
Sarah explained that she was able to win the bronze in the fighting competitions in the Republic Championship in the category of under 12 years and over 40 kg in her first participation in the name of Al Haffa Country Club in 2017, and in 2018, she won gold in the Republic Championship in individual fights in the category of under 12 years and weighing under 48 kg and silver in the kata in the same weight And a gold with Al-Haffa Club in the Republic Club Championship, and in 2019 she won two silvers in the Republic Championship, and in 2021 she won the kata silver and bronze in the fight in the Republic Championship in the category of under 14 years and weighing under 48 kg.
In addition to this sport, Sarah follows the game of chess in the Al-Basel Stadium hall under the supervision of coach Jaafar Issa, where she won the leadership rank at the country level in chess in 2018, two gold medals in the National Junior Olympiad in Chess Classic and Speed in 2019 and aspires to go far in this sport in conjunction with Karate, through Join the national team and represent it the best in its foreign stations.
