Le Parisien-Aujourd'hui en France told you a year ago the story of Éléonore, a little girl born in March 2019 without a right ear.
His parents had launched a solidarity kitty to collect the 85,000 euros needed for cosmetic and functional surgery, which currently only exists in the United States.
Three hundred and sixty-five days later, three-year-old Éléonore had just had surgery in Los Angeles "thanks to the generosity of people, the help of our families and friends, and grants from other associations or institutions", welcomes Marjorie, the girl's mother.
A delicate intervention
This operation lasted seven hours and allowed the reconstruction of the external part of the ear thanks to an implant.
“The skin used to cover it comes from skin grafts taken from the fold of the groin and on the other side of Éléonore's head.
The surgeon also placed the magnetic structure under the skin of the hearing aid and had to replace a posterior artery, a particularly delicate manipulation”, specifies the mother.

For the moment, Éléonore's face is still bandaged and the latter will be able to discover her new ear on August 19th.
The little girl and her family are still in the United States where they have to go to numerous consultations.
A final meeting to confirm the success of the operation will take place at the end of August, after which the whole family will be able to return to France.
