Six champions stay in Hong Kong to study medicine, five people elected
Among the six DSE champions who studied medicine in Hong Kong, five chose to study at CUHK Faculty of Medicine, namely Zhou Kaitong from Xie Yan Middle School and Xie Chengzhen from Queen Elizabeth Middle School, two "super champions". In 2022/23, the two local medical schools will each increase the number of medical courses to 295. The Faculty of Medicine of CUHK will admit a total of 205 HKDSE students, accounting for 70% of the medical courses.
The number of CUHK medical students (students with a perfect score of 40 to 49) is generally higher than that in 2021/22. In 2021/22, there were four top students admitted to the CUHK Faculty of Medicine. In 2022/23, the number increased to five, accounting for the current year The percentage of HKDSE candidates who obtained this score for admission to Medicine was 83%.
In addition, based on the full score of 49 in the seven subjects, more than 90% of the HKDSE students who obtained a score of 46 or above for admission to Medicine this year chose to study at the Faculty of Medicine at CUHK.
