The users of the Kochelseebahn will have to wait a little longer.

The route will be closed for weeks

According to Deutsche Bahn, the route closure of the Kochelseebahn between Seeshaupt and Kochel, which has been in effect for weeks, will remain in this section until mid-September - as of August 10th.

Until then, there will continue to be rail replacement services (SEV).

The decision was made "to create a plannable and stable offer for the passengers in the region," said the railway in a press release.

"Due to the long-term planning, replacement buses can be organized and deployed more reliably despite the currently tense situation on the market."

There was also repeated criticism of rail replacement services

Recently, there had been criticism not only of the desolate information policy of the railways, but also repeatedly of the SEV - also because the travel times of the buses or taxis were not published anywhere.

That has now changed: The travel times of the SEV buses on the Kochel-Seeshaupt route are now stored in the travel information on www.bahn.de.

There you can also see where the replacement stops are located.

That was not very clear recently in Benediktbeuern, among other places.

According to Sabine Rauscher from the tourist information office, on Wednesday afternoon there was information that the SEV bus stopped at the Benediktbeurer town hall stop.

Bahn apologizes to the passengers

"The quality in the Werdenfels network was recently unacceptable and in no way meets our own standards," says Klaus-Dieter Josel, Group Representative for DB in Bavaria, as quoted in the press release.

"We apologize for this to the passengers, for whom in many cases we were unfortunately unable to offer a good ride."
