His son, the wife of Yuan Michang, an international relations scholar, and a member of the Legislative Council of the New Democracy Party, Rong Haien, published a newspaper last Friday (5th), saying that he and Yuan Gongyi cut off the "grandfather-in-law" relationship with Yuan Gongyi on the basis of "the righteousness of the country".
A week later, Yuan Michang, the "connector" of this "grandfather-in-law relationship", publicly responded to the incident for the first time in a newspaper column. He pointed out that his father had always acted "world-shattering", and everyone understood the current rules of the game in Hong Kong's establishment politics. It was not surprising that the incident would develop to this point. Both father and son understood Rong Haien's behavior and said with a smile, "If everyone thinks that the Yuan family has changed, they are overthinking it."
However, Yuan Michang pointed to the incident. People are worried about the "Cultural Revolution" of Hong Kong society. Everyone prefers left to right and eager to show their loyalty, lamenting that this will not help Hong Kong society to start anew and reunite the majority of society.

Understanding of the newspaper: expressing your position is the rule of the game, but it is not necessary to kill relatives
Yuan Michang's column in "AM730" pointed out that his father's behavior has always been "shocking the world". As a son, he has long seen it, and the development of the situation had been predicted as early as the year before his father "running away": "I am concerned about the separation of my wife's newspaper and Yuan's father. Although I learned about it early in the morning, I didn't bother to inform Dad Yuan, because I knew that he must understand the current rules of the game in Hong Kong's establishment politics. It is necessary to make a statement, but it is not necessary to kill relatives. Therefore, I have the same attitude as him: I express this Understand, Hong Kong people don't need to make a fuss. Yuan pointed out that it may be too early for society to worry about the "Cultural Revolution", but "under the CCP, everything is political."

He pointed out that the central government wants to adjust its posture to open up a new situation for Hong Kong, but the visit of the US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan has made the establishment "harder and more left, and everything has returned to its original shape."
In addition, the Legislative Council by-election and the Hong Kong People's Congress election will be held at the end of the year. "Who dares not to be 'Left' - even if they pretend to be 'Left'."
Yuan Michang warned that what is really worrying is this trend of preferring the left over the right, and there is a trend of "upward and downward effect", eager to show political loyalty: "If this trend of preferring the left over the right is not eliminated, the society will be destroyed. Continue to politicize, so that the united front of 'one country, two systems' will not be established and a neutral majority won't be won, and Hong Kong will never have a day of real peace."
Yuan Michang and Rong Haien were interviewed together and agreed that it was damaging (harmful) to use the topic to talk about political opinions while watching TV, and advised other families not to do this.
