Russia's Deputy Representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, announced that the Ukrainian regime's version of what is happening at the nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye was not supported by anyone during the UN Security Council meeting yesterday.
“We hope that the discussion in the Security Council in which no one has fundamentally supported the fictitious Ukrainian version of events despite the obsession with accusing Russia will prevent the Ukrainian leadership from further reckless provocations at the nuclear power plant,” Polyansky said on his Telegram channel.
Polyansky noted that the visit of the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, to the station will take place in the very near future, and neither the Ukrainians nor the United Nations Secretariat will interfere in it.
The nuclear power plant in the Zaporozhye region, which has been controlled by the Russian army since last March, is located on the left bank of the Dnieper River near the town of Energodar. It is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of the number of reactors and capacity, as the plant contains six reactors.
The Russian army is currently protecting the station at a time when Ukrainian forces are trying to attack the station’s lands, and the frequency of shelling has increased on it since August 5, and on the seventh of the same month, the Ukrainian forces launched a missile attack on the station, and the shrapnel fell about 400 meters away from the station.
