Suspicion of attempted murder in Ashdod:
A resident of Ashdod (51) was arrested on suspicion of shooting a 62-year-old man on Kishon Street in the city today (Friday).
Between the suspect in the shooting and the man who was shot there is a prior acquaintance under criminal circumstances: the son of the injured man was convicted of murdering the shooter's son about two months ago.
The initial report of the incident reached MDA's 101 hotline in the Lakish area at 10:00. The injured man was treated by MDA staff and was taken to Asuta Hospital in Ashdod in moderate condition with a penetrating injury.
The suspect in the act was arrested and brought to Ashdod station for questioning.
The weapon he allegedly used was found at the scene.
The Ashkelon Magistrate's Court granted the police request and extended the suspect's detention until Wednesday.
