Authorities in the US state of California have evacuated thousands of people from wildfires that destroyed nearly 100 homes in the north of the state.
And the Associated Press quoted authorities as saying in a statement today: “A wind-fuelled bushfire in rural Northern California destroyed a neighborhood in which about 100 homes and other buildings were injured, injuring at least two people and forcing thousands to leave their homes.” It spread to Lincoln Heights, which burned down a number of homes and forced residents to flee for their lives.
The authorities added, "Firefighters worked all day to contain the fire," noting that investigations are still underway to find out its causes.
