Oberding doesn't feel heard

"Our objections were not accepted - not even with a comma": Oberding's mayor Bernhard Mücke (CSU) was not very enthusiastic about the draft that the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs has now sent to the municipalities at the municipal council meeting on Tuesday. "Our objections were not accepted - not even with a comma": Oberding's mayor Bernhard Mücke (CSU) was not very enthusiastic about the draft that the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs has now sent to the municipalities at the municipal council meeting on Tuesday.

It is about the partial update of the state development program (LEP) Bavaria, which was heavily criticized in numerous municipalities, including in the Erding district, around six months ago.

They feel severely handicapped in their development potential.

Oberding – The LEP is the future concept of the state government for the spatial order and development of Bavaria.

The municipalities were able to submit their opinions on this until April 1st, and the Ministry of Economics has now drawn up a draft on which the municipalities can give their opinions until September 19th.

And the Oberdinger does not turn out well.

That is why the municipality is fully maintaining its statement from March – after a unanimous vote by the councillors.

Like many other rural communities, Oberding sees its development hampered by a further tightening of the connection requirement, which is intended to prevent urban sprawl.

The communities must be given flexibility in land use planning - Oberding, for example, because of its status as an airport community.

The municipality is also calling for more flexibility in the regulations for the settlement of large retail projects.

Shopping opportunities are to be created in the Schwaiger commercial area, which is known to be growing rapidly.

Like many other municipalities, Oberding also demands that a passage be included in the LEP with the deletion of the third runway at the airport.

The municipality writes that if the Oberpfaffenhofen special airport were to be opened, this would also result in significant relief for the existing commercial airport in the Erdinger Moos for business pilots.

There is great concern in Oberding above all because of the deep groundwater, the extraction of which should be reduced according to the LEP to protect it.

The problem for Oberdinger: All seven wells in the area of the Moosrain Water Association, from which the community is supplied, are deep groundwater.

The fatal consequence would be that new wells would have to be built.

Half a year ago, Mücke estimated the costs at 1.5 to two million euros.

To make matters worse, the water quality from higher groundwater layers is worse.

Oberding therefore continues to vehemently demand long-term protection for deep groundwater wells.

"To put the drinking water supply at a disadvantage in this way is absurd," said Mücke back in March.

Because according to his community, the mineral water industry is strongly favored.

You will continue to have unrestricted access to the deep groundwater, "while the water suppliers with their compulsory municipal task of drinking water supply would be referred to remote water networks or even water treatment".

In principle, the water supply must remain in public hands.

"Is the LEP now being implemented like this?" asked Christian Kaiser (WG Oberding), concerned about the current draft.

"We hope not," said Mücke and expressed the hope that Oberdinger's demands after the first participation process would at least partly be taken up in the LEP.

Finally, Mücke was annoyed that the draft had been delivered at the beginning of August, at a time when many town halls are also on vacation: "You always get something like that before the summer holidays or before Christmas."
