Today, the branch of the Arab Writers Union in As-Suwayda celebrated the literary experience of the poet and novelist Shakib Abu Saada through a lecture during which the doctor in modern criticism and comparative literature at the University of Damascus, Karim Obeid, lit up Abu Saada’s works with impressionistic readings in his poetic and novelistic works.

Dr. Obeid pointed out that the writer Abu Saada represents a great literary stature that deserves to be considered poetically and novelistically. He is a poet who knows how to capture the aesthetics of poetry and write it in a striking manner that draws the reader and motivates him through his energetic spirit that is reflected in the poem in a way that shows its music in a unique way with his writing in all poetry styles and forms. From the vertical poem and the activating poetry with a new experience in the prose poem, where he was able to experiment in everything and show his uniqueness and be himself in all these forms.

He pointed out that the writer has been able to write four novels since 2015, each one different from the other with its ideas, themes and innovative style, while being influenced by the place and environment from which any writer starts observing issues that concern everyone.

A number of writers and poets in attendance noted the writer’s distinguished style and his mastery of his tools in poetry and novel, which he recently moved to as a spacious space, pointing out that whoever reads his poems will find him a true poet with high artistic tools and language and a poetic spirit that touches hearts and surprises them, as well as his identification with the poets of the resistance. Reading his fictional works, he will find that he has mastered the tools and techniques of fiction, and feels the epic soul, the accuracy of the description, and its aesthetics.

Head of the Arab Writers Union branch in As-Suwayda, writer Wejdan Abu Mahmoud pointed out that the event comes within the framework of the branch’s work to highlight the literary figures that have enriched cultural life with her writings and works, especially that the writer Abu Saada is a great literary and cultural personality and the owner of a renewed enlightenment approach, as he is an old poet and many poets are still The great conservatives memorize his poems that were said in the sixties of the last century, in addition to being a novelist with his own character and style.

The writer Shakib Abu Saada was born in As-Suwayda in 1945 and holds a university degree in commerce and business administration. He has published several poetry collections, including (Celebrating Death), (One Pine Is Enough), (The Lost and Other Poems), (The Poem Says) and (I Have Never Seen). He has three published novels: “The Year of the Birds”, “Mara” and “Al-Hilali Melkah” in addition to the novel “The Aqueducts of the Devil” which is currently in print.
