The Moroccan anti-terror police announced the arrest of an ISIS member in Casablanca for planning a terrorist act.
AFP quoted the Central Bureau of Judicial Research as saying in a statement today: that its members were able to “arrest a 29-year-old extremist loyal to ISIS,” noting that he made “reconnaissance visits to identify some security observation points for the purpose of targeting them, and using them to target them.” His weapons were used in terrorist operations, and he was looking for safe paths to join extremist organizations in sub-Saharan Africa, Syria and Iraq.”
In the past years, the Moroccan authorities announced the arrest of many suspects of their affiliation with this organization, and the number of arrests in the context of terrorism cases in general in Morocco has exceeded 3,500 people since 2002.
