For years, fans and the media pitted Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez against each other: Now they want the world to know they don't hold a grudge against one another.
Bieber and Gomez attended the Academy Museum's second annual gala in Los Angeles on Sunday night, where they posed together to quell rumors of the alleged feud.
And it wasn't just smiles, the two shared a sweet hug that photographer Tyrell Hampton managed to immortalize.
He posted the photo on Instagram, along with the caption "unexpected twist."

The photo of Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber comes after the model appeared on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast last month, in which she discussed years-old speculation that she dated her now-husband, Justin Bieber, while he was still in a relationship with Gomez.
Justin Bieber and Gomez were in a public relationship between 2010 and 2017. For their part, Justin and Hailey Bieber, who previously dated, got engaged in 2018 and married a few months later.

"Call Her Daddy" host Alex Cooper asked Bieber about being called a "homewrecker."
To which the model replied that she did not go out with Justin Bieber while he was with Gomez and she pointed out that this was not part of her character.

"When he and I started dating or something, he was never in a relationship, never at any point," she said.
"It's not in my character to get into someone else's relationship. I just would never do that," she added.
Days later, Gomez apparently responded to Bieber's comments on a TikTok live.
At the time he said that he does not support hate speech and asked his followers to be kind.
“It's not fair, because you should never talk to anyone the way I've seen,” Gomez said.
