In the evening, a variety of songs from the Syrian heritage were presented in the form of an impromptu competition between two singing groups: the “Harmony” team, one of the old members of the St. Ephrem band, and the “Melody” team, one of the new members of the band, through five games consisting of the lyrical maqams of great singers such as George Wassouf. Mayada Bsilis, Shadi Jamil and Sabah Fakhri, and each group must know the maqam and the song, and then perform it in a collective choral form.
“Virgini Your Ear” was the title of the first game, which entertained the audience with the traditional song “Hal Asmar Al-Loun” and then the song “Ohahabibwa” from the Syriac heritage, which means in Arabic “Ya Habibi”, to come the second game entitled “Stars and Lights” and presents the most beautiful songs such as “Ya Ghaly" and the song "To send my peace to Salem", "Ya Habeeb, I will never forget you" and "They wound us in the blink of an eye".
Presenting Syrian traditional and traditional songs by artists who had a distinctive imprint in the world of Syrian art through an enjoyable and attractive competitive atmosphere for the young generation, and restoring the high artistic level to the minds of the public were the main objectives on which the evening was based, according to Maestro Sarwa explained to Sana, indicating that it is a new and unusual show. Traditional, these ancient tarab songs were never presented in a collective choral form.
