On the occasion of the fifty-second anniversary of the establishment of the Corrective Movement, the Homs governorate, in cooperation with civil activities, inaugurated today a memorial for the martyrs in Rawdat al-Firdaws Martyrs Park in al-Zahraa neighborhood.
The Governor of Homs, Engineer Namir Makhlouf, and the Secretary of the Homs branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Omar Houriya, laid a wreath on the memorial in the presence of the head of the Security Committee in Homs, the provincial police chief, and a number of clerics and popular figures.
The head of the Martyrs' Office in the province, Bassam Mahfoud, confirmed in a speech that the inauguration of the memorial, which took place in cooperation between the Homs governorate, and the civil activities, comes in honor and loyalty to the souls of the martyrs and a token of gratitude to the people of Homs, who presented the convoys of martyrs in defense of the homeland.
In turn, the head of the Homs City Council, Eng. Abdullah Al-Bawab, explained that a contract was signed with the General Company for Construction to complete the erection work of the monument within a short period, and the garden of Rawdat Al-Firdous was planted with flowers, and it was lit along with the memorial with alternative energy.
The Director of the Homs Endowment, Sheikh Zuhair al-Atassi, spoke about the meanings of martyrdom and the great role of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of the homeland, praying to God Almighty to have mercy on the martyrs of Syria and heal the wounded.
