The Center for Health Protection stated that it is investigating a suspected food poisoning case at the Victoria Peak Restaurant, involving a total of 8 men and 2 women, aged between 29 and 51, who attended a luncheon at the restaurant last Saturday and ate raw oysters. After 49 hours, symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and fever developed.

Two of the affected persons have sought medical treatment and did not require hospitalization. All patients are in stable condition.

Eight men and two women were suspected of food poisoning after eating raw oysters at the Victoria Peak Restaurant on the Peak.

The authorities appeal to the public to maintain personal, food and environmental hygiene, prevent food-borne diseases, and pay attention to the following points when eating out:

patronize reliable and licensed restaurants;

Avoid eating raw seafood;

Choose cold dishes carefully, including sashimi, sushi and oysters in the buffet;

When eating hot pot or barbecue, make sure the food is thoroughly cooked before eating;

Handle with care and separate raw and cooked food thoroughly during cooking;

Use two sets of chopsticks and utensils to handle raw and cooked food separately;
