Last week, Rabbi Yoel Pinto, the son and successor of the Rebbe Rabbi Yosiah Pinto, visited the Zion of the tzaddik Rabbi Amram ben Divan Zia, who is located in Vozan, Morocco, and prayed for the members of the Shuba Yisrael community and for the entire nation of Israel.
In his lesson over the weekend, Rabbi Pinto told about the greatness of Rabbi Amram ZIA and said that his uniqueness was that he gave his soul to visit the graves of the righteous and pray over them.
Rabbi Pinto said that Rabbi Amram went inside the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron where the fathers and mothers are buried, at a time when Jews were not allowed to go inside, but only to climb a few steps outside the building.
Due to his entry, he was sentenced to death and he went to Morocco, where he collected money for the Jews of Hebron.
During his stay in Morocco, his little son fell ill.
Rabbi Amram turned to the Blessed One and said, "Please take my life instead of my son. My son will live and I will die."
The next morning he passed away.
Rabbi Pinto said so.
"This is the only authorized story we know about Rabbi Amram," Rabbi Pinto said in his lesson, "and Rabbi Yoel innovated in that this is Rabbi Amram's uniqueness - to visit and pray at the graves of the righteous, and therefore it is a great thing to visit Rabbi Amram's grave in Morocco," he added.
