The Moosburg family Förster switched on the lights at their Christmas house again - this year to a somewhat reduced extent.

But the good cause is not neglected.

Moosburg

- It was not an issue to skip the best time of the year: Manuel Förster in Moosburg's Resendenstraße, a branch of the Stadtwaldstraße, has brought joy to many people with his Advent paradise of lights in recent years.

And there is also this year, albeit a little slimmed down.

The Moosburger built around 30,000 lights in recent years to fascinate passers-by and children.

At the start of the first advent it looked impressive again and the reduction was not really visible.

Around 15,000 lights shine this time, and Förster emphasized that he reduced the number of lights in order to set an example for saving energy.

Since everything is LED technology, the power consumption is also limited from a financial point of view.

The children's hit this year is the glowing reindeer with a moving head.

Around 150 Moosburgers came to Resedenstraße 1 to switch on the lights for the first time.

In return for donations, punch and mulled wine were served at the opening of the lights.

The proceeds from this and from the donation box that was set up (and video-monitored) in front of the house until Christmas will go to the wish truck of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund.

And then there were special guests of honor: the Moosburger Moordeifen.

The big and small Perchten flanked Santa Claus and also showed themselves ready for their season.

On December 5th and 6th the group will be out and about in Moosburg and the surrounding area.

With six appointments a day, the Krampuses accompany the best-protected Santa Claus in town.

The Moordeifen are 16 people including the children this year.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

A highlight of the group (rauhnachtgeister.de and under “Moordeifen” on Facebook) is this year the hike with Moosburg citizens to the sky-blue lake.

This is scheduled for Sunday 18 December.

The bog dykes give the courageous fellow hikers hope that one or the other mythical figure can be found in the forest.

The meeting point for the excursion to the city forest is at 2 p.m. at the DAV clubhouse next to the bowling alley.
