As part of the 16-day campaign to combat violence against women, the Arab Cultural Center in Qamishli hosted artistic and sporting activities organized by the Syrian Society for Social Development, the “House of All” center, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

In the same context, the Syrian Society for Social Development, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, held training workshops and various events in the city of Baniyas.
Duaa Taha Pasha, coordinator of the Gender-Based Violence Program at the Syrian Society for Social Development, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that a training workshop was implemented for women and adolescents in the Beit Al-Yasmine and Ward Jouri centers, with the aim of training them on how to defend themselves in the event of an assault, and giving them mechanisms and techniques to prepare girls and women. She pointed out that a march was organized in the city of Baniyas, starting from the municipality roundabout, passing through the market, and concluded with organizing a solidarity stand in the crafts and handicrafts market, and those present writing their supportive and anti-violence opinions and distributing handicrafts to workers in the craft market.
Some of the women participating in the march expressed the importance of the campaign, and the holding of these activities and workshops for its role in introducing and raising awareness about violence against women, as it constitutes a psychological motivation and support for them.
