Belgrade-SANA
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic confirmed today that the declaration issued by the European Union and Western Balkans summit will not change Serbia's position rejecting sanctions against Russia.
Russia Today quoted Vucic after the summit meeting in the Albanian capital, Tirana, as saying that the only country that did not agree to the sanctions policy is the Republic of Serbia, and we cannot bear responsibility for this declaration because we were not the ones who drafted it.
In response to criticism of his country's close relations with Moscow, Vucic made it clear that Serbia is an independent country that aspires to join the European Union.
And the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic, confirmed on the sidelines of the summit that it will conclude with a declaration calling for coordination of foreign policy with the European Union, and that Serbia will have to adhere to this coordination as a candidate for membership in the Union.
