Cell broadcast will be tested for the first time in a joint exercise on the warning day on December 8th.
This is what you need to know:
District
– In a joint exercise on Thursday, December 8th, the federal, state and local authorities are testing their warning systems.
A warning will be issued on Thursday at 11 a.m.
At 11.45 a.m. the all-clear was given, as reported by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Homeland
Cell broadcast will be tested for the first time on warning day.
According to the authorities, cell broadcast is “a warning message that is sent directly to the mobile phone”.
And further: “With no other means of warning can we reach more people.
To ensure that as many citizens as possible receive the message, we need their help.”
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
Some hints:
Not all cell phones can receive cell broadcast messages.
Older devices often cannot do this.
A list of receivers can be found at the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (www.bbk.bund.de).
In order for a cell phone to be able to receive cell broadcast messages, it also needs current updates.
Otherwise it doesn't work.
You should check whether the latest updates are installed.
In order to receive the message, the phone must be switched on and not in flight mode on December 8th.
With the warning app NINA, which you can easily download, you also get the warning and are also otherwise informed about dangerous situations.
On December 8, the population will be informed about other ways, for example via sirens, on the radio and television, on Deutsche Bahn trains and on platforms.
