For a long time, the CSU thought about whether there could be another shock mountain like before Corona, but you definitely want to try: The date for 2023 is set: On Saturday, March 25th, local politics will be settled.

If the evening is sold out, there may be up to two additional dates.

Schongau

– In 2020, the Schockerberg was canceled at very short notice, in 2021 it was not even tried, and in 2022 the corona rules also failed.

But postponed is not lifted, in 2023 there should be another strong beer festival in the parish hall at the invitation of the CSU local association.

The team of organizers want to dare again, but first of all start small: "We simply don't know whether people are still careful and even go to such big events again, so we're only bringing Saturday into play for now," explains Michael Eberle.

Only one evening is planned

But for the time being, they don't want to set the bar too high: they'd rather offer a nice evening with a full hall and a good atmosphere.

In the event that the demand for the tickets is huge and a lot of people register in advance, of course, provisions have been made: the Jakob-Pfeiffer-Haus is rented for the entire last weekend in March as a precaution.

"We can then also add Friday, even Sunday would be possible again," reveals Eberle.

The Schockerberg had already been treated to this additional Sunday performance three times so far.

"And we found that these are the funniest days," says Eberle.

You're already well-rehearsed on stage, the initial tension is gone.

The team is already set

No matter how many performances there are, the team is ready to prepare: Oliver Kellermann and Michael Reith are just as active as Luitpold Braun junior and Michael Bommersbach.

"Very important" are Evelyn Paul, who as the cashier is responsible for everything to do with money, and Ingrid Steffek, who will again manage advance ticket sales.

Eberle does the press work himself, the Junge Union around the chairman Maria Scholz has also promised that she will take over the bar again.

Of course, the Schongau town band is on board as an important partner.

And of course there will also be a shocker bock again, brewed by Markus Langer from Altenstadt.

"It's already activated and the date for the shocker buck test is already set," says Eberle.

As always, the beer is brewed in the Holzhauser brewery in Igling near Landsberg.

Simone Schmid's canteen will again take care of the physical well-being of the guests.

Probably not a big Singspiel

Everything had been agreed with both Langer and Schmid in the past few years – the two were left with their expenses.

Therefore, it is now "a matter of course" to bring her back on board, according to Eberle.

You also have to be careful on stage this year: "There probably won't be a big Singspiel," regrets Eberle.

The problem: Many of the actors are either professionally or privately very busy, there are simply a few failures.

From Luitpold Braun to Katharina Braun and Anna Eberle to Julia Kelz, Michael Reith and Eberle himself, there is not so much room for a big Singspiel this year, but there should be several smaller appearances.

Who is the new Lenten preacher?

"And there will be a new Lenten speaker," reveals Eberle, but doesn't want to reveal the name just yet.

This should remain secret for as long as possible, preferably up to the Schockerberg itself. "But if the sparrows whistle from the roofs, we will announce it." Only so much: It's nobody from the circle of the CSU, but someone External, but from Schongau.

And there should be another change: a streamlining of the official part.

This should only last until 11 or 11:30 p.m., not until 12:30 a.m. as before.

"We had several reports that people would like to end the evening comfortably," says Eberle.

Advance ticket sales at the end of February

Advance ticket sales should start at the end of February, about four weeks before the Schockerberg weekend at the end of March.

"We are looking forward to our party again after the Corona break." Now the CSU hopes that the people of Schongau have not completely given up the habit of partying.

"We hope it works."
