On Friday (16th) on Yu Tung Road in Tung Chung, there was a fatal car accident involving a bus. Three vehicles collided with a Long Win bus, a compact truck and a van, resulting in 2 deaths, 1 critical condition and 9 injuries.
One of the deceased, surnamed Lin (64 years old), was a truck driver who was resting on the roadside at the rear of the truck. After the accident, he lay down on the rear of the truck and died of his injuries.
Today (19th) at around 11:00 am, a large number of relatives and friends came to the scene for the Road Sacrifice. Different offerings were placed on the altar. Under the Taoist chanting scriptures, everyone offered incense and kowtowed, with sad expressions.
The incident happened at 9:18 a.m. last Friday (16th). The E36A Long Win bus involved in the incident was carrying more than 20 people from Yuen Long to Tung Chung. The dense trucks and vans were parked on the left line of Yu Tung Road.
At the time of the incident, the Long Win bus first hit the compact truck, pushed it forward and then crashed into the passenger truck, resulting in 2 deaths, 1 critical and 9 injuries.
One of the deceased was a 64-year-old truck driver surnamed Lin Midou.
According to sources, at the time of the incident, he was sitting at the side of the road at the back of the compact truck, resting with other workers clearing weeds, and then the Longyun bus lost control and hit the compact truck, pushing it forward and then hitting the van .
After the personnel arrived, he was found lying on the back of the tanker truck, and died of his injuries.
According to Lin Nan's relatives and friends, Lin Nan originally worked as a truck driver in China and Hong Kong, but due to the epidemic, he switched to a truck driver for a cleaning company. He joined the job for about 2 months and worked from seven to four.
He and his wife have a son who is now an adult and studying abroad.
