Since 2001, the admission prices for the Seebad and Warmbad in Rottach-Egern have remained stable.

Now they have to be increased, not least because of the rise in energy prices.

The council was unanimous.

Rottach-Egern

- "It's time to raise the prices," said Mayor Christian Köck (CSU) at the last municipal council meeting of the year, with a view to the admission prices for the Rottacher See and Warmbad.

They had remained unchanged since 2001.

However, the increased energy costs as well as increased personnel costs due to tariff increases would now make new admission prices necessary.

The proposal from the administration, which was then decided unanimously, provides for an increase in the individual tickets of between 20 and 33 percent and for the season ticket by 40 percent.

For example, the one-and-a-half-hour ticket for adults will cost four instead of three euros, the three-hour ticket will cost 6.50 euros instead of the previous five euros, and the day ticket will cost nine instead of the previous 7.50 euros.

For children it is 2.50 euros instead of two euros for 1.5 hours, three instead of four euros for three hours and five instead of four euros for the day pass.

From next year, the season ticket for adults will cost 250 euros instead of 178.50 euros, and for children 135 euros (instead of 97 euros).

For second children, 92 euros and for each additional child 60 euros are charged for the season ticket.

Treasurer: increase "moderate"

The price increases are moderate, also compared to other outdoor pools, explained treasurer Martin Butz.

And Mayor Köck pointed out that they no longer wanted to charge even more admission, since the pool was finally getting on in years.

He even expects that the bath will be even more expensive for the community.

"We will have to do something there in the next few years," predicted the mayor.

But before the bathroom is renovated and the municipality undertakes another major project, the new Rottach town hall has priority.

In principle, the municipal councils therefore also agreed to the adjustment of the admission prices for the Seebad and Warmbad.

“The increase is justified and moderate.

You have to face the pressure of energy costs,” said Alexandra Wurmser (CSU).

Group colleague Anton Maier wondered why the ticket price increase for guests with a guest card was only 50 cents, but between one and 1.50 euros for regular tickets.

This was explained by managing director Gerhard Hofmann with the percentages of the increase.

Local discount canceled after court ruling

When asked by Alexandra Kolmansberger-Wallleitner (Blitz) why there was no longer a local discount, Mayor Köck referred to a corresponding court ruling, according to which the local discount had to be cancelled.

Michael Mayr (Greens) suggested a model based on the model of some Munich outdoor pools, according to which bathers could buy additional tickets for the needy and deposit them more or less when they bought their admission ticket.

In this way fellow citizens would support the social idea.

Köck doubted that there would be a demand, especially since the municipality would step in in cases of hardship and also support, for example, swimming courses for refugees and the youth training of the water rescue organizations.

Georg Höß (FWG) only complained about the timing of the necessary increase: just when everything would be more expensive anyway.

He suggested not waiting another 20 years before making an adjustment, but instead reviewing the price structure every three to four years.
