A kindergarten teacher who fled to Uzbekistan after being suspected of abusing children was extradited to Israel tonight (Friday).
Irina Shakirova, who fled the country in 2018, will stand trial in Israel for the crimes of abuse and assault of minors.
Shakirova, 37 years old, fled the country on the eve of the conclusion of a criminal investigation against her.
She is suspected that as part of her work as the owner of a kindergarten in Tirat Carmel, and as part of her position as a kindergarten teacher there, she behaved violently towards children between the ages of one and a half and three.
The acts were revealed when one of the assistants went to the police station and revealed the events.

In April of this year, she was arrested at the airport in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, after Israel issued a "red notice" against her.
Later, the international department at the State Attorney's Office submitted a request for her extradition under the European Extradition Convention.
The Georgian court granted the request, and the Georgian Minister of Justice signed the extradition order.
Tonight, Shakirova was brought to Israel, accompanied by Israeli police officers.
The police will ask the Magistrate's Court to extend her detention and in the coming days an indictment will be filed against her.
The extradition case was handled by Attorney Hana Leib from the International Department of the State Attorney's Office, in cooperation with the Israel Police and the Foreign Operations Coordination Section at the national headquarters.
