A drug laboratory was discovered in a house in the pastoral settlement of Kfar Veradim this evening (Saturday).
On New Year's Eve, the residents of the quiet settlement in the north were surprised to find out today when Ma'alot police detectives broke into one of the houses in the settlement and uncovered a laboratory for the detection of marijuana.
Inside the house, 432 seedlings were caught in various stages of growth.
During the investigation carried out covertly last month by Ma'alot police detectives together with the Kinneret Region Criminal Investigation Unit in the North District, observations were made of the house during which the landlord was spotted entering the house several times.

Today in the evening they broke into the house and arrested the suspect, a resident of one of the villages in the area.
During the investigation, it became clear that in addition to growing the drugs, the tenant hacked into the electricity grid and stole electricity to operate the drug laboratory.
The house belongs to a well-known lawyer in the area and was rented when, without the lawyer's knowledge, the drug laboratory was operated on the premises.
"We didn't suspect."

Neighbors who live nearby told "Israel Today" that the house was recently renovated, but they were surprised when the tenants used to visit the house only once a day or two days for a limited time.
"They come in and out. We thought they wanted to build a guest house there. We didn't suspect it was a drug laboratory," said one of the neighbors.
