BMW crashes head-on into Peugeot: Two seriously injured

Serious collision at Arnhofer Berg: For reasons that are still unclear, the Peugeot of a Munich resident (right) crashed into the BMW of a woman from Bruckmühle yesterday afternoon.

On Tuesday (January 3), two cars collided head-on in a slightly sloping curve at Arnhofer Berg.
Both participants, a Munich (30) and a woman from Bruckmühl (56), had to be taken to the hospital.
The cause of the accident is unclear.

– In a head-on collision on Tuesday afternoon (January 3) at Arnhofer Berg (Weyarn municipality), a 30-year-old from Munich and a 56-year-old woman from Bruckmühle sustained serious injuries.
The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on the MB 20 district road between the Mittenkirchen farmstead and the hillside forest on Arnhofer Berg.
As reported by the Holzkirchner police, the man from Munich was driving his Peugeot uphill in the direction of Fentbach.
The woman from Bruckmühle steered her BMW in the opposite direction.
According to the police, it is still unclear how the accident happened and why one of the two cars ended up in the oncoming lane.
In a slightly downhill curve, the cars collided head-on, each with their left vehicle fronts.
The force of the collision was so great that the Bruckmühlerin woman's BMW was thrown about 100 meters down the slope and only came to a stop on a tree at the edge of the forest.
The Peugeot of the Munich landed in an adjacent meadow.
Property damage is estimated at 50,000 euros
Both parties suffered serious injuries, but according to the police, they were able to free themselves from the wreckage of their vehicles.
Paramedics took her to nearby hospitals.
The two cars are only worth scrap, the Holzkirchner police estimate the damage to property at around 50,000 euros.
As a precaution, the fire brigades rushed to the scene of the accident with several vehicles, since it was initially not clear whether people were trapped in the accident cars.
According to the Sonderdilchinger fire brigade commander Rupert Meier, who acted as head of operations, there were a total of 56 fire brigade forces on site, including twelve active from Sonderdilching, 24 from Weyarn and 20 from Feldkirchen-Westerham.
The MB 20 district road between Fentbach and Arnhofen was closed for about an hour and a half during the rescue work.
