Attenkirchen's art and culture association "Tutuguri" has been re-formed.

Chairman is now Heiko Lange.

Co-founder and ex-chairman Sylvester Denk remains loyal to the association.

Attenkirchen

– The art and culture association "Tutuguri", a flagship of Attenkirchen, has repositioned itself.

Co-founder Sylvester “Ringo” Denk has resigned as the first chairman after almost ten years.

However, he will remain with the association as a programmer, stage operator and consultant.

The "Tutuguri" co-founder Sylvester Denk (67) has enlivened the cultural scene in Attenkirchen for a decade and played a major role in shaping it.

In 2012, after the closure of the "Willi-Bräu", now Trattoria Giuseppe, Denk set up a venue for concerts, an open stage for art and culture, in the in-house, converted electronics workshop.

Together with his wife Arpita Hofmann-Denk, ex-landlord Willi Abele and a handful of like-minded people, it has been possible over the years to put together a challenging program.

One that many culture lovers in the Freising district can no longer do without.

With the closure of the Willi-Bräu, a cultural vacuum was created in Attenkirchen.

The cultural initiative KATTI, in which some active members of "Tutuguri" were also involved, once created a film night and brought cabaret greats like Dieter Hildebrandt and Gerhard Polt to the Bürgersaal.

But cabaret, an open stage and jazz concerts like in the Willi-Bräu just didn't exist anymore.

It was precisely this gap that was filled with the founding of "Tutuguri".

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

“The idea was simply to continue the cabaret stories.

We practically adopted the formats,” Denk recalls.

New ideas such as the "Café Diwan" initiated by Norbert Härtl with readings, poetry, music and an author's cinema brought into play by Willi Abele were added.

Under the motto: no telephone, no television, no e-mails.

An experiment that worked.

Somewhat unusual formats seem perfect for a room that can accommodate a maximum of 75 people.

"One third regional, one third national, one third experiment," Denk reveals the recipe for success of "Tutuguri".

The highlights of the program included the "Shakers Bluesband", Michael Fitz or "SCHERBEkontraBASS", the remnants of the cult band "Ton Steine Scherben".

"Tutuguri" also made its mark at the Uferlos Festival and most recently at the "Winter Wonder" in Freising.

For example with an open stage and a poetry slam.

An indication that one likes to reinvent oneself again and again.

And it should stay that way.

They are currently in the process of reviving the tradition of playing Schafkopf – with regular card evenings.

A concern of the new board of directors, which has already been successfully implemented.

This should be every two weeks in the future.

But the art and culture association also wants to offer something for young people and families.

A new edition of the artist mile from Attenkirchen to Thalham is planned.

Not to mention the cultural program at the beer festival, for which you are jointly responsible with Christine Schindele.

So there is enough to do for the newly formed management team.

"The first step towards rejuvenation within the scope of our possibilities," says the newly elected chairman Heiko Lange.

The new Vice Leonhard Huber (54) has been part of the game for three years.

"There is enough freedom to set new impulses," he is certain.

In any case, the creative minds at "Tutuguri" don't seem to run out of ideas any time soon.

The club certainly has no lack of experience.

Because as I said, Sylvester Denk and the previous Vice-Chairman Norbert Härtl are still available to those responsible with advice and action.

Information on the current program is available at www.tutuguri.de.
