At their epiphany meeting, the FDP received unwanted visitors: climate activists interrupted the speech by party leader Lindner. He countered - and also commented on the tank deliveries to Ukraine.

No to the speed limit, longer running times for nuclear power plants - there are many things about the positions of the FDP that bother climate activists.

Activists from the Robin Wood group have now used banners to gain access to the Stuttgart Opera where the Liberals are holding their traditional Epiphany meeting.

"We weren't invited, but we still came by with our messages," writes the Robin Wood group on Twitter.

They interrupted the speech by FDP leader Christian Lindner, rose from their seats on the gallery, sang "We shall overcome" and unfurled banners.

One bore the inscription "Climate collapse = economic collapse."

The other read: 'Better not to govern than wrong.

Therefore speed limit immediately.«

Lindner advised the activists to stick to the opera, then at least they wouldn't be able to obstruct anyone else: "My offer to you, stick on, use lots of glue, because if you stick here, you won't be able to obstruct anyone."

Referring to the topic of training and the shortage of skilled workers, Lindner said that one could not only “demonstrate for climate protection, someone must also be able to assemble it”.

In his speech, Lindner also addressed the announced delivery of German tanks to the Ukraine.

He called for more speed in future decisions of this kind.

It was important to bring about such resolutions "more quickly" among the Allies.

With such decisions, Germany also shares responsibility for the future of Ukraine.

Germany wants to provide Ukraine with around 40 Marder armored personnel carriers.

The decision was announced on Thursday evening.

It marks a new step in federal government policy.

So far, the latter has refused to give military equipment of this kind to Ukraine.
