Cherish life | 65-year-old man in Hachigo hanged himself on a tree

At about 11:00 this morning (15th), a passer-by was passing by Jinhe Road in Pat Heung. At a graveyard on the side of the mountain about 100 meters away from the Depot in Pat Heung, a passerby was surprised to see a man hanged from a tree with a rope, so he called the police for help.

The police and firefighters arrived at the scene after receiving the report. The firefighters released the 65-year-old man surnamed Chen. His body was severely decomposed and smelly. It is believed that the deceased had been dead for more than a month. The cause of death is yet to be determined after an autopsy.

The police did not seize the suicide note at the scene. Detectives initially believed that the incident was not suspicious. It is not ruled out that the man hanged himself on the tree earlier and still had personal belongings such as wallets and mobile phones on him.
