The body of the older cousin he was last seen with was found at the same recycling plant a month ago.

DNA tests carried out on the remains found in the Toledo landfill confirm that it is Ángel Fernández Silva, the 11-year-old boy who disappeared in Madrid on December 10 along with his cousin, Fernando Fernández García, 17.

The body of the major was found in the same place at the end of December at that same point and since then the search has focused on a limited area of the recycling plant.

After the location of the child's foot, the operation has continued to be active in the hope of finding more remains.

The forensic report is already in the hands of the judge investigating the case, according to sources close to the investigation.

In parallel to this search work, the investigation continues to find out how the two minors ended up in Toledo and the way in which they died.

The main hypothesis is that they escaped, as they had done on other occasions, to see a girl, but due to bad weather they got into a container to take refuge from the rain and cold.

The autopsy of the older cousin determined that her death had not been violent, but was due to suffocation.

Her corpse was found on the conveyor belt of the recycling plant with compatible injuries from the machinery through which the garbage passes.

However, the police do not close the door to other hypotheses and that is why they have questioned both the families of the boys and those close to the girl from Toledo with whom the older cousin had a relationship.

He has also searched several times the house of the family of the girl from Toledo where the cousins supposedly went to visit.

The girl's mother and stepfather left that property several weeks ago.

The parents of the cousins maintain that they do not believe that the minors went into a container to protect themselves and ask that the circumstances surrounding their deaths be "investigated to the end".

In the judicial procedure opened in the Investigating Court No. 3 of Toledo, the families of the two minors have appeared as private accusations.

His lawyer has requested the practice of new investigative proceedings.

"The case is being investigated in this court after the one in Madrid that opened preliminary proceedings after the complaint of the disappearance of the minors has inhibited itself and has submitted testimony of said procedure in favor of the Toledo court," specifies the Superior Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha.

The children's relatives lost track of them in a shopping center in the Carabanchel neighborhood, where they had gone together to do some shopping.

At one point, the cousins said they were going to eat a sandwich at another outlet in the mall, but security footage shows the children left the outlet.

It is precisely the images from different cameras in Madrid and Toledo that the agents are relying on to reconstruct the journey of the young people.

Since the body of the older cousin was located in the Toledo Ecopark, the agents delimited an area of the recycling plant where some 10,000 tons of garbage accumulate.

In the search operation of "extreme difficulty" canine guides, the scientific and judicial police and two backhoes participate.
