Marketing tourism at Tegernsee – here a holiday apartment in Bad Wiessee with a view of the lake – is the task of the TTT.

However, the communities have imposed strict austerity measures on the company.

The valley communities have prescribed their Tegernseer Tal Tourismus Gesellschaft a strict austerity course.

Bad Wiessee also benefits from this, as the annual figure for 2023 shows.

Bad Wiessee

- "We didn't make it easy for ourselves" - this is how Christian Kausch, Managing Director of Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH (TTT), introduced the presentation of the annual approach for 2023 to the Bad Wiessee municipal council.

As is well known, the mayors of the valley have specified a clear austerity course.

The budgeting is therefore also the result of an intensive discussion, said Kausch.

The share of costs for the five municipalities has been reduced to 3.5 million euros

The effort to reduce costs has had a visible impact on the result, including for the municipality of Bad Wiessee, which holds a 29 percent share.

The total budget of the TTT for this year is around 4.9 million.

The share of the five shareholders, i.e. the valley communities, fell by 127,870 euros to a good 3.5 million euros.

This also results from the decision not to hire a deputy for Kausch.

The post was publicly advertised in the fall.

The basic contribution to be paid by the municipality of Bad Wiessee after the district levy is 50,390 euros, as in the previous year.

The marketing fee, which is calculated based on the number of overnight stays, is significantly lower.

In 2022 it was 984,430 euros, in 2023 an amount of around 950,700 euros is estimated here.

For the municipality, the contribution in this area is reduced by around 33,700 euros compared to 2022.

Less money also has to be invested in tourist information

36,870 euros less have to be invested in the surcharge for the tourist information.

The share for Bad Wiessee in 2023 is 218,550 euros. The culture budget, i.e. the sum that the community pays for the spa music each year, has not changed.

The costs here are still 156,000 euros.

With a reduction of around 70,000 euros, the municipality of Bad Wiessee will have to bring in a total of almost 1.38 million euros in 2023.

Tourism boss Kausch: Annual savings are a quarter of a million euros

After presenting the figures, the TTT boss gave an overview of the activity.

His presentation also included suggestions and advice from the Tourism Advisory Board.

According to Kausch, staff restructuring and centralization result in annual savings of a quarter of a million euros.

Despite staff savings, especially in the tourist information, an increase in quality was achieved through the appropriate measures.

Kausch was also able to announce plans to move.

The Rottach Tourist Info has to relocate due to the demolition of the town hall - a move to the Seeforum is under discussion - and something is also changing at the Bad Wiessee location.

It is a move within the building.

After the Sparkasse branch has been downsized, the TI will be housed in rooms next to the self-service area.

The new TegernseeApp is scheduled to go online in 2023

As general goals for 2023, Kausch named the improvement of internal communication, including communication within the valley, and the implementation of the results of two brand workshops that were successfully completed in 2022.

In addition, the TegernseeApp is to go online and be advertised on the Internet.

Digitization is to be promoted as a priority in 2023.

Here Kausch was able to present an extensive list of project work for 2021/22.

The organization of the traffic forum will be taken over by the district office in the future.

May 11, 2023 is also the date for Tourism Day.

The Tegernsee holiday region does not visit large public fairs

In the area of marketing, no visits to public fairs are planned, according to the TTT boss.

The TTT will only be represented at small trade fairs and workshops in the greater Munich area.

Day tourism has not been advertised for several years.

Florian Sareiter (CSU) gave a positive assessment of the savings in human resources, which would have helped the company's "water head".

At the same time, he asked Kausch what tips he could give for dealing with the “blatant upheaval” in town with construction site noise and immense traffic.

Kausch recommended dealing with the situation transparently so as not to raise false expectations among guests.

Complaint management is already a priority.

Benedikt Dörder (SPD) found critical words.

He gave the TTT a "poor" for the implementation of digitization.

"We work self-critically here," assured Kausch.

Ultimately, the 2023 budget was passed unanimously.
