So far there have only been a few interested parties for the property next to the vehicle hall.

Living space is scarce.
Houses and apartments are correspondingly coveted and expensive.
In Emmering, the municipality is now renting out two large apartments in the new fire station.
Surprisingly, the interest is limited.
Emmering – Markus Pree is a bit surprised.
The manager in the town hall had actually expected a huge rush to the two apartments in the new fire station.
Four rooms, light-flooded rooms, brand new, beautiful view, in the center of Emmering and also cheap compared to market prices: the two apartments in the new building should be in great demand.
"We expected more interest," says Pree.
Maybe word of the offer hasn't got around yet.
Attract skilled workers with living space
The fact that the municipality acts as a landlord at all is mainly due to the tense real estate market.
In Emmering, too, finding a new home is anything but easy.
The fire brigade has already had to give up - a firefighter has moved away because he could not find an apartment for himself and his family.
(
By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular
FFB newsletter.)
This is another reason why Deputy Mayor Fritz Cording is certain: "Every apartment helps." The market is extremely tight.
This is also reflected in recruitment.
His calculus: the more apartments there are, the higher the probability of being able to attract skilled workers to Emmering.
award criteria
However, the administration cannot allocate the communal apartments at its own discretion.
After a long struggle, the municipal council had developed a catalog of award criteria.
The most important criterion is income.
This is weighted the most.
There are also points for children who live in the household, as well as for people who practice social professions or work for the police and rescue services.
Volunteer work also earns points.
The same applies to people who have been living or working in Emmering for five years.
Single parents have better chances of finding an apartment.
If several applicants achieve the same number of points, the one with the lower income will be awarded the contract.
Now it is hoped in the town hall that a few more applications for the two apartments will arrive.
Whoever is awarded the contract can look forward to one of the safest apartments in Emmering - after all, he has the fire brigade in the house.
But he also has to reckon with the fact that it gets louder when the firefighters have to move out at night.
