The Syrian Arab Republic delivered a statement on behalf of the countries of the Eastern Mediterranean Region entitled Enhancing WHO Preparedness and Emergency Response and Strengthening the Global Structure for Preparedness and Resilience, as the Minister of Health, Dr. and data exchange

The Minister of Health indicated that the countries of the Eastern Mediterranean Region are looking forward to further clarification of several details, and to technical support for the implementation of some proposals, and they express their appreciation for further discussions on the Global Council for Health Emergencies, preparedness and response, and additional consultations on building the health workforce, proposing an increased focus To strengthen the capabilities developed during the pandemic in the field of emergency preparedness, and work to sustain them in several areas, such as monitoring, laboratories, clinical care, and access to medical control methods.

The countries of the Eastern Mediterranean Region have expressed their permanent commitment to promoting compliance with and implementation of the International Health Regulations, appreciating the efforts made by the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body concerned with drafting the text of an agreement, agreement or other international instrument of the Organization on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response, and negotiating this agreement.
