From the pop-up: In Khan al-Ahmar they built another building in the illegal outpost First publication Israel today

The evacuation of the Palestinian enclave will probably be delayed in a few months • The state again asked the High Court to wait • Criticism from the Likud, MK Danon: "We were elected to change the policy of the previous government and not to continue it"

Yesterday, the new government asked the High Court for another extension, for the ninth time, for the evacuation of the Khan al-Ahmar outpost. The state asked to postpone the evacuation until June 1, 2023. While the evacuation will probably be postponed, a new building was recently built in the illegal Palestinian outpost Khan Al-Ahmar.

The state detailed in its answer to the High Court that in the weeks since the establishment of the government, staff work was conducted with the cooperation of the new head of the National Assembly, Tzachi Hanegbi, the National Security Adviser, representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the IDF, the Shin Bet, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Justice, and more.

"Given the complexity of the issue and its sensitivity, the great interest in the international community and its implications for the foreign relations and security of the State of Israel at the present time, the professionals were instructed to complete the work of the headquarters required to formulate an accurate response to the conditional order. The formulation of the detailed response to such a sensitive and complex issue justifies the position of the political level to give An additional stay to complete the work of the headquarters, so that this will allow the professionals to present the full range of considerations to the political level."

This is the ninth time that the state has asked to postpone the evacuation of the outpost.

The demolition orders for Khan Al-Ahmar were issued back in 2009. Over the years, the High Court rejected petitions against the demolition orders and stated that it does not interfere with the state's discretion. After the orders were not complied with, the Regavim association filed a petition demanding that the state be required to carry out the demolition orders. Since then, the state has been submitting many rejection requests which have angered the judges of the High Court.

Harsh criticism of the position of the new "right-wing" government came from home: Likud MK Danny Danon expressed great anger after the postponement request: "This is a dangerous precedent and giving support to the illegal construction of the Palestinians.

We were elected to change the stuttering policy of the previous government and not to continue it.

It's not too late to act and evict Khan al-Ahmar."

"Same excuses again"

On the opposition side, the chairman of the Israel Beitenu faction, MK Oded Porer, said in response: "I had no expectations from Netanyahu.

But where is the minister in the Ministry of Defense who demanded powers in the Palestinian Authority, precisely for these cases? Where is the Minister of National Security? Does the Minister of Settlements Struck know that she is responsible for the development of the Palestinian settlement?"

The Regavim movement was also sharply criticized: "We were hoping to receive a proper response to a national right-wing government as we were promised in the elections," said Meir Deutsch, the movement's CEO. "The government received the mandate to stop the Palestinian takeover of Area C, and instead we received the The same excuses."

And in the field: a scout of the Forum Otaf Jerusalem recently identified a new building built in the center of the Palestinian outpost, which was not there before.

From the photographs it is clear that this is a new building, apparently built of wood and covered with plastic.

It is not clear what the use of the new building is, but this is another violation of the law.

"The residents of Khan al-Ahmar are laughing at all of us," they said in the forum surrounding Jerusalem.

"The government can vacate the place any day, it does not have to wait for the High Court's responses and the date that the Supreme Court will specify."

The Friends of Jahlin organization, which accompanies the people of Khan al-Ahmar, said that "the time has come to settle the Khan with the consent of the local Bedouins."
