Development of the bicycle obliges, the highwaymen version 2023 now hide along the cycle path in Lyon.
Several cyclists have thus been attacked since the beginning of the year on the portion of via Rhôna which connects Lyon to the Miribel Jonage park, according to information from
BFM Lyon
confirmed to

by several sources.
With each time, a group of several young men who slow down and surround their victim by threatening him to steal his mount.
This was the case for Pierre, a member of the Asul rowing club on Lake Miribel, between Christmas and New Year's Day at nightfall.
He says he filed a handrail at the police station.
"We thought of an isolated incident but later, several rowers noticed that a dam had been erected in the middle of the cycle path to force them to slow down",
says Catherine Fontalba, vice-president of the club.
Earlier this month, two young people were attacked on the same model, with a broken wrist as a bonus for one.
They would have filed a complaint.
A well-identified portion
The president of the club wrote Friday, February 10 to the town hall of the municipality of Vaulx-en-Velin, Hélène Geoffroy, and his security assistant to alert him to the situation.
An email also sent to club members as well as to cycling associations and Insa students, who come to row on Thursdays.
“We advise you to ride a co-bike so as not to be alone on the portion concerned
,” explains club president Bruno Pallanchard.
A very precise portion of what will become the Lyon route 9, on the passage which runs along the A42 motorway, at the height of the intersection with rue Louis Duclos, where the track descends.
The town hall of Vaulx-en-Velin ensures for its part that it has reinforced municipal police patrols in the sector since the beginning of the year, and makes the link with the national police.
But for now, members prefer to leave their bikes in the garage.
“Mine is electric, I don't take it out anymore
,” says one of them.
