In the aftermath of the first big defeat for the government, when the National Assembly rejected article 2 of the pension reform bill providing for the establishment of a "senior index", the Minister of Labor, Olivier Dussopt, speaks, his voice somewhat tired by the arduous debates which punctuate the Hemicycle.
For several days now, the parliamentarians of Nupes and the National Rally have been standing up against the device.
A total of 256 votes were against and 203 for.
The opposition also came from the side of the elected Republicans.
Some 38 of them voted against and six abstained.
And this, despite the concessions made by the Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, on long careers.
An outcome that did not "
surprise
" the Minister of Labor, Olivier Dussopt, guest on France Inter this February 15 morning.
As for the failure of the adoption of article 2, "
there is a form of disappointment
", he regretted, this Wednesday on France Inter.
“Because in the National Assembly, with the government, we spent three days debating almost
2,000 amendments to this senior index
,” lamented the Minister of Labour, particularly targeting Nupes.

Those who tell us that we are not doing enough for seniors are deleting the index.
