An 85-year-old woman was killed last night (Tuesday) by an alligator attack while walking her dog in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Local media reported that the three-meter crocodile first attacked the woman's dog, and then attacked the woman when she tried to save her dog.
Chilling footage captured the moment the alligator dragged her to her death as she tried to protect her dog from him.
The footage published by Inside Edition shows Gloria Sarge standing with her leashed dog by a lake outside a local nursing home.
The alligator is seen swimming in the water and approaches her and she tries to get away from the 300 kg creature, but it is too fast and she only manages to walk a few meters before it leaps out of the water and tries to attack the dog. Serge, who was desperately trying to protect her pet, was dragged
to under the water and was killed.

Neighbor Carol Thomas told Inside Edition that she tried to call the police.
"There's a woman in the lake! An alligator grabbed her!" Thomas is heard telling the dispatcher on the emergency call.
"I think she's gone. My God!"
Thomas said she tried to use the pole to help Serge, but failed.
"There's no way I could have reached her sooner," she said, "It's terrible for her family. It's just terrible, terrible."
Fatal attacks by alligators and alligators are not common in the area, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, which also said the woman's dog survived the incident.
