Lavrov: Russia is ready to organize negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that the Russian side is ready to organize negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan on a peace treaty between the two countries.

Russia Today website quoted Lavrov as saying today, in a press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov in Baku, we affirmed readiness to provide opportunities for the continuation of such meetings, and the Azerbaijani side announced its readiness for that, while the Armenian side said: It also does not object, but so far it has not submitted its final approval Adding: I do not think we will be very insistent on providing our services, but both sides know it well.

Lavrov pointed out that the European Union abuses and exploits its relations with Baku and Yerevan, including the attempt to pass the European Union mission to work in the territory of Armenia, which raises many serious questions about the legitimacy of the mission of this mission, its mandate, its functions and its duration of work, as well as what benefit this can bring. Mission to efforts to normalize relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Lavrov expressed the hope that the deputy prime ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia will be able to reach specific agreements on resuming the use of the railway between the main lands of Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan.

Last October, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that his country agreed to work towards a settlement with Azerbaijan over the Nagorno-Karabakh region on the basis of the principles proposed by Russia.
