She calls on District Administrator Olaf von Löwis to oppose the project.
There is support from the SPD district association.
In its application, the SPD parliamentary group asks the state and federal governments to "reconsider and withdraw" the motorway expansion, saying that the district does not see the need for preferential and accelerated implementation.
"When the decision was made to expand, more roads were the standard solution against traffic jams - today we know: We have to rely more on public transport and reduce individual traffic instead of sacrificing more and more nature for roads," writes SPD district chairman Bruno Peetroons.
The further expansion of the A8 counteracts efforts to turn around traffic in the region.
The SPD parliamentary group is therefore hoping for broad support from the other parliamentary groups after the district council voted yes to joining the MVV.
"In addition, the expansion measures are pointless if no expansion can take place in the Valley municipal area because of the water protection area, which has prevented urgently needed noise protection measures for decades and, even after the Inntal triangle, traffic flows back onto freeways that are not expanded," says the application.
