No proof exists on the deletion of any file by the Arles plant around the death of Yvan Colonna.
This is the assertion of the National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor's Office responsible for investigating the assassination of the Corsican nationalist activist by a fellow prisoner on March 2, 2022. The hypothesis had been raised last week by the parliamentary commission of inquiry, and by the lawyer for the family of the murderer of the prefect Erignac.
On March 15, during a press conference organized in Paris, Jean-Félix Acquaviva and Laurent Marcangeli, respectively president and rapporteur of the parliamentary commission of inquiry responsible for "shedding light" on the assassination of
Yvan
Colonna, expressed their "
big questions
" about all the information provided by the inmate management software, Genesis.
"I'm going to kill him"
The two deputies first said they wondered about a potential "
erasure of certain data
" from Franck Elong Abé's prison file.
This 36-year-old Cameroonian jihadist fought hard against the Corsican separatist in the sports hall of Arles prison.
After several days in a coma, Yvan Colonna, co-author of the assassination of the prefect Érignac in February 1998, died on April 21 as a result of his injuries by suffocation and strangulation.
However, his file, fed each month since 2014, had not been since January 2022, a month before the tragedy.
Similarly, the two elected officials said they wondered about the absence of any mention of a discussion the day before the assassination between fellow prisoners, reported by an agent, where, according to prison intelligence, the sentence "I'm going to kill
him
" would have been uttered by the aggressor.

, the National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday dismissed any suspicion of erasure.
For the simple reason that the supervisor who reported the conversation between the fellow prisoners would not have entered it into the software.

The investigations relate in particular to the observations of the prison guards before, during and after the facts
, recall the magistrates of the Pnat.
It is not indicated that the report on these threatening remarks would have been integrated into the software and therefore, subsequently, deleted
.
Flaws in the prison administration around the deadly assault of the Corsican activist have however been regularly pointed out since the assassination.
As early as April 2022, an investigation report revealed that the center would have had to temporarily cut off the retransmission of images from video surveillance cameras due to a maintenance operation on technical equipment, potentially making it invisible to agents the assault on Yvan Colonna.
The report also questioned the status of “
auxi
” of the aggressor, Franck Elong Abé, who, thanks to this job, could move freely within the establishment.
In July 2022, another report from the General Inspectorate of Justice (IGJ) established "
disciplinary breaches
" on the part of the supervisor on the one hand, who is accused of having "
stayed away from the corridor leading to the place of the facts

without any reason
”, as well as on the part of the director of the central house and the director of the prison administration.
