Kreis-Jäger board member Karem Gomaa started the Hegeschau with an aggressive speech.

He pleads for the gun - and hunting tourism in distant countries.

District - For some "completely antiquated bone cult", for others an "excellent instrument that the hunters can present themselves".

The chairman of the Ebersberg district group in the state hunting association, Karem Gomaa, located the conservation and nature conservation show, which took place this year in the old warehouse in Ebersberg, in this public area of tension.

There were numerous trophies on display.

The interest was great, additional rows of chairs had to be set up.

The Moosach Conservancy Association was responsible for decorating the hall with spruce greenery and foliage, and Gomaa joked: "I don't see any browsing here, that's the way it has to be."

Forests in the district of Ebersberg show little bite: applause from the district administrator for the hunters

In fact, this roughly corresponds to the condition of the forests in the Ebersberg district.

Thanks to the work of the hunters, he is one of the ten best in Bavaria in terms of browsing.

There was applause from District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß (CSU), who gave the hunters very good marks in this regard.

They also work well together in the “fighting of wild diseases”.

And in addition, the hunters managed to reduce the "wild boar damage".

From the reading of the "route", i.e. the animals shot throughout the year, it was clear that the number of wild boars shot had fallen to 132.

In the previous hunting year there were 340, more than twice as many.

And because African swine fever is still hanging over the wild boar stocks like the sword of Damocles, the district administrator wants to recommend that the district council extend the wild boar premium.

The logic behind this: In thinner populations, a deadly pathogen cannot spread as quickly as in a dense stand.

The district provided around 45,000 euros for this and this amount was almost exhausted by the hunters, Niedergesäß reported.

"This work is not always subject to amusement tax," he said as a reason.

CSU criticism of the traffic light government: "Hunters on the same level as criminals"

The member of parliament Thomas Huber (CSU) criticized, already in campaign mode: "The traffic light government puts hunters on the same level as criminals." But Gomaa emphasized: "Shooting is necessary to maintain a healthy stock." been killed.

Among other things, this should help “so that the lapwing has a chance to reproduce at all”.

The meadow breeder used to be a common species in the district of Ebersberg.

Its holdings are down 90 percent.

"Others do nothing and talk smart, we hunters act," said Gomaa aggressively.

Hunting association chief defends hunting tourism to Africa

Gomaa also had no reservations about hunting abroad and called critics "self-appointed moralizers".

Literally: "The hunting tourist brings money and bread to these countries." Hunting is an important branch of the economy for the local population.

All venison won will be used.

In fact, around 20,000 jobs have been created in this way in Namibia, and even the media critical of hunting concede that without the money from foreign hunters in Africa there would be no nature conservation at all.

Pragmatically, Gomaa says that what pays for itself is retained.

Stable game stocks in countries with hunting tourism would prove this thesis.

Hunter honors for sustainability and commitment in the district of Ebersberg

Karl Schweisfurth from the Herrmannsdorfer Landwerkstätten has also made sustainability a priority.

The eco-entrepreneur and advocate of species-appropriate livestock farming has a heart for wild animals, reported Gomaa and pointed out the retreat areas created by Schweisfurth.

At the presentation of the Ebersberger Arche, the district group's highest award for non-hunters, Schweisfurth recommended his own motto to the hunters, namely "dare more wilderness".

Christoph Brenninger received the bronze oak wreath from Gomaa for his outstanding commitment to the Atteltaler Jägerschaft.

An exhibition on the subject of "Hunting in sight" will start on April 1st in the Forest and Environment Museum.

Falconer and hunting dog demonstrations are also planned.

There are now 35,000 square meters of wild fields in the district, and the hunters also look after 400 bird nesting boxes.
