The Munich-Land vocational school will set up a specialist academy for social education from autumn.

50 places will probably be available from autumn for the training of educators.

District – The district of Munich is getting a new state academy for social education.

As of the coming school year, state-recognized educators can qualify under the umbrella of the Munich-Land vocational school.

Bavaria's Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Finance gave their approval yesterday.

"An important sign at the right time!" Says District Administrator Christoph Göbel (CSU), he was delighted to hear the news.

The district is now trying to set up the academy as quickly as possible.

It is to provide 50 places in two classes from September.

The green light from the state government was not long in coming: District Administrator Christoph Göbel (CSU) only applied for the technical academy in July 2022.

The district is now a big step further in the fight against the shortage of teachers.

Because with the technical academy, the urgently needed specialists for kindergartens, crèches and after-school care centers, for residential and educational homes are to be tied to the region.

State ministers announce good news, school knows nothing

In his press release, Minister of Education Michael Piazolo (FW) underlines the importance of teacher training against the background of the shortage of skilled workers and the coming legal right to all-day care: "I am pleased that we have once again succeeded in opening another state specialist academy for To get social education off the ground.” And Minister of Finance Albert Füracker (CSU) emphasizes that the newly founded specialist academy for social education creates an immediate opportunity for advancement.

In this way, the nannies who have been attending the vocational school in Feldkirchen for two years can gain further qualifications directly in two years of study and one year of internship to become state-approved educators.

Jörg Schnadel, who has been in charge of the Munich-Land vocational school, which has been growing rapidly since August, is also surprised that the approval comes eight months after the application was submitted.

Yesterday he was happy on the phone.

Schnadel will now thread the next steps so that up to 50 women and men in two classes can start their teacher training in autumn: "Now it is important to find additional rooms and teachers, and then we will take care of student registrations. "

New headquarters in Riem

The Feldkirchen branch is currently developing into a young talent factory for educators: In 2017, the district rented the first classrooms in an office building on Dornacher Straße 3b in order to look after young people without training in “vocational preparation” and to prepare them for their career path.

In 2021, the field of child care was added at the Feldkirchen location.

For two years, 88 men and women have been on the way to becoming a state-approved nanny.

The Munich-Land vocational school will open another branch office for child care in September in Kirchseeon in the Ebersberg district, and 20 students have already registered.

And now the new specialist academy for social education completes the qualification.

At the same time, the Munich-Land vocational school is being expanded at the headquarters in Riem, where farmers, housekeepers and horse keepers have been learning up to now.

The district is investing 73.4 million in the wood-hybrid building, which should be ready for the 2026/27 school year.

Then the Feldkirchen branch will be closed and all disciplines will be combined in Riem.
